FBA Under 14 Junior
Development Program
In 2022 we changed how we manage and deliver Junior Basketball within the Region. Our Staff, board and key community members to come up with a better way. This led to a change in various systems and structure changes that aligns more with our development philosophy.
We moved away from the traditional "representative" model for this age group. Rather than a model of selecting the best and deselecting the rest, we are operating under the development philosophy of "as many as possible for as long as possible".
PROGRAM GOAL
Inspire, connect & develop our future
COACHING PHILOSOPHY
Our coaching pillars; Growth mindset, Coaching a person who plays basketball, Coaching for development, Being an active member of the community. Our approach to development is ‘as many as possible for as long as possible’.
METHODOLOGY
We ask ourselves if there is a better way of seeking constant improvement into how we coach. We believe you get better at basketball by playing basketball, this is why we use the constraints led approach which is an evidence based approach to coaching
